Smallmouth Bass Fishing | Fishing Outfitter
Guided smallmouth bass trips are one of our favorites at Asheville Anglers. We fish the French Broad, Pigeon, and Nollichucky Rivers for smallmouth. All smallmouth trips are float trips. These rivers are much too big and rough to do so on foot. Generally spin fishing will be the best approach for bass. Be prepared to cast crank baits, jerk baits, jig heads with soft plastics, as well as top water in the summer months! These are generally high number trips with chances at trophy smallmouth every day. February, March, September and October are generally the best months for the big fish, with the summer months being great for high numbers. If you prefer fly fishing that is possible too, expect to cast large streamers or popper during the summer months. These are hard fighting and aggressive fish, so be prepared to get some tackle destroyed!
