Musky Fishing with Asheville Anglers

The French Broad River produces some of the best musky fishing in the south.  The NCWRC stock 1000 fish biannually combined with the native breeding population.  This is a great trip for a serious angler seeking a trophy game fish.  Be prepared to cast big heavy lures into thick cover to entice one of these majestic fish!  Fly fishing is also very productive on the giants, flies produce a different action that these fish haven’t seen as much and is one of the greatest trophies a fly fisherman can hope for in fresh water.  All musky fishing trips are out of drift boats or a jet boat.  Our musky fishing is great year round, which is a huge advantage to the northern country that is froze over in the winter.  Fall, Winter and early Spring is the best time to chase these monsters but summer time fishing is great as well.  Musky fishing is more like big game hunting, be prepared to fish hard to land one of these trophies.  We’ve boated muskies as large as 50 inches, but 30-45 inches can be expected.  If you’re ready for a hardcore fishing trip of a lifetime book your musky fishing guide trip with Asheville Anglers and be ready!
